Joy Boyd Tutoring

Joy Boyd supports individual learning styles and promotes positive reinforcement while engaging state of the art educational strategies. As a Certified Educational Therapist, former classroom teacher and elementary school administrator, she is equipped to work with each student’s unique strengths and weaknesses.

• Over 20 years of elementary classroom teaching experience
• Orton-Gillingham trained
• K-5 individualized interventions and developmentally appropriate remediation methods for multiple subjects, including organization and study skills

I offer a unique educational service by providing the experience and ability to tutor in multiple subjects, as well as a deeper insight into a student’s individual learning capabilities. Direct one-on-one instruction focused on areas of need helps students efficiently develop their skills. I provide support with a multi-sensory instructional approach and assist with issues that interfere with attainment of academic skills. Students are encouraged to rely on strengths while developing strategies to overcome areas of weakness.
